An acoustic singer playlist on Spotify

The beauty of a streaming platform like Spotify is the ability to collect a wide and varied assortment of your favourite artists in one place and tailor the way you listen to suit you.

Whilst purists may exclaim it's the death of the conventional album as we know it, making an acoustic singer playlist on Spotify has massive benefits to the listener and the artist alike.

Mainstream and Indie Collage

Since putting my acoustic music on Spotify I have felt a degree of pride at having my songs sit alongside those of all types of artists, big and small. And whilst my tracks don't get massive volume, it's all about opportunity. Kinda like the lottery, you gotta be in it to win it.

Spotify users are able to craft a playlist that genuinely reflects their tastes and musical leanings. This means they are able to add anything and everything, including the local bands they like - so long as that band has uploaded their tunes.

My suggestion to acoustic singers and artists is to encourage your friends and fans to add one or two of your songs to one of their playlists. This will help Spotify to associate your music with that of the other bands and artists which you share the playlist with!

Make Your Own

Why not make your own acoustic singer playlist on Spotify that has all your favourite bands and a couple of your own tracks. This should help to get the ball rolling as well as being something you can share with others and encourage them to follow.

If I were to make such a playlist (and I will) it would include:

  • Bruce Springsteen

  • The Beatles

  • Bob Dylan

  • Bob Marley

  • Damien Rice

  • Ray Lamontagne

  • Biffy Clyro

  • Goo Goo Dolls

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival

  • Sister Hazel

  • Bon Iver

  • Matt Hires

  • Chris Olson Music

  • Ben Howard

  • Counting Crows

  • Brian Fallon

  • Kaleo

  • Tracy Chapman

  • Mumford and Sons

  • Joshua Radin

  • The Horrible Crowes

  • Vance Joy

  • Ed Sheeran

  • Passenger

  • Gregory Alan Isakov

  • Noah Kahan

  • George Ezra

Now did you see what I did? I planted Chris Olson Music right in the middle. Sneaky right?

So that's it for this Acoustic Singer article. Get out there and create your playlists on Spotify. And don't forget to share them with me @chrisolsonmusic on Facebook and Instagram.

Peace and Love,

Chris
