Chalkline

Original acoustic song by Chris Olson

One of the very first songs I wrote on the acoustic guitar, Chalkline would also end up being the very first song on my band's debut album titled "Eleven".

The song is about the hole left in someone's life when the feelings from one or both of them disappear and how the fallout can often feel emotionally draining. It is also meant to be an inspirational song for anyone looking to overcome the end of a relationship or the loss of someone.

I still regularly play this song (unlike some tracks from the first album) and you can see one of my "Sofa Session" clips at the end of this page where I play it with gusto. If you like the video please share with your friends, especially those interested in an Acoustic Singer UK

Lyrics

Verse 1

Is it wrong to still think of you, yeah because I do

I still hear songs that remind me of you, yeah you

Do you still feel the way I do, because I do

Pre-Chorus

There's still a bit of you on me, I just see things, different than you

Chorus

We have to find a way

To live in the aftermath

She was a friend of mine

Now she's just another chalk outline

Verse 2

We waited way too long, I knew

The moment's now gone, it's true

But I keep my head up high, tonight

In love

Pre-Chorus

There's still a bit of you on me, I just see things, different than you

Chorus

We have to find a way

To live in the aftermath

She was a friend of mine

Now she's just another chalk outline

We have to find a way

To live in the aftermath

She was a friend of mine

Now she's just another chalk outline
